Unboxing: Atelier Totori Premium Set (PS3)

It's time for Atelier Totori's unboxing! Totori is a direct sequel to Atelier Rorona: The Piemaker of Arland and it is also the prequel to Atelier Meruru, which recently came out in Japan. It also happens to be one of the few commercial games that jaypee talks about.

Unboxing: Disgaea 4 Premium Edition (PS3)

Oh boy, the wait is finally over. Disgaea 4 has made its way to North America and it comes with two different premium editions. The one I bought retails for $59.99 at the NISA online store and the other one is priced at $119.99. The only difference is that the more expensive one comes with nine additional trading figures. And if you're curious, Jerry has a unboxing of the Japanese version here. Anyways, here we go.

Unboxing: Catherine Love Is Over Deluxe Edition (PS3)

I was planning to type and post this a lot sooner, but I had more important things to do like playing and getting mad at video games. For those of you that don't know, Catherine is a horror, puzzle, dating sim game that focuses on the more unappealing aspects of a relationship, such as marriage and cheating. Or in other terms, it's a DEEP visual novel with block puzzles. Anyways, on to the unboxing.

Review: Kurisu Makise By Kotobukiya

The tsundere assistant of Kyoma Hououin has arrived! I bought her out of impulse when she caught my eye on Mandarake which means I broke my rule for my monthly figure budget. Oh well, I already broke it again for another future month so I suppose there's no point in following it anymore.

Review: Super Soniko Bondage Ver. By Orchid Seed

Now that Canada Post employees have been forced back to work I finally received this figure in the mail. This figure is very lewd so some of the pictures will be censored. If you want to see them uncensored then just click on the thumbnails to be redirected.

Review: Alice Margatroid Mamisao Version By Griffon Enterprises

Today we have another figure from Griffon Enterprises. I know that I said I wouldn't get this particular figure, but with my new source of income I figured why not? This Alice is part of Griffon's "special" Touhou figures and it has a price tag to match its title. Sadly, the price tag doesn't reflect the quality of the figure. Before I start, I'd like to point out that I previously reviewed the regular version and it can be found here.

Review: Momiji Inubashiri By Griffon Enterprises

Youkai Mountain's Patrol Tengu, Momiji Inubashiri, is finally here! Another figure from Griffon Enterprises' Touhou product line! I was planning finish this review later as I have work tomorrow, but I decided I should make some effort to push out a non-shitpost. I-it's not l-like I rushed this review so I can cheer myself up by reading your comments when I come from work or a-a-anything! Don't misunderstand!

Review: Dead Master Animation Version By Good Smile Company

Here comes the figure that I was anticipating the most, Dead Master! Kirari Star has a review up for Dead Master Original Version so check it out if you're curious. Before I continue, I would like to make it known that my opinion of this figure will most likely be biased due to my affection to the character. I'll try to keep it to a minimum so forgive me.

As you may already know, Black Rock Shooter Animation Version suffered from various problems from broken twintails to her missing star. Fortunately, Dead Master has been spared from any QUALITY defects and it looks like her name won't be changed to Derp Master. Anyways, on to the review!

Review: Figma Black Gold Saw By Max Factory

Black Gold Saw is another character designed by Huke. She resembles Black Rock Shooter a fair bit. If BRS were to fuse with Dead Master or Black Devil Girl then BGS would most likely be the result. I suppose this is one of the drawbacks when designing characters that consists mainly of a black and white color scheme. To be honest, BGS is my least favorite judging from purely a design perspective. That doesn't mean I don't like her though!

Review: Black Rock Shooter Original Version By Good Smile Company (Re-release)

With two figures from the BRS universe already on pre-order I thought that it wouldn't hurt to get another. Haters gonna hate. I personally enjoyed the OVA even with the mediocre story and I'm sure most of you already know why.

Anyways, this figure is based off Huke's illustration of Black Rock Shooter and mine happens to be the re-release. From what I've heard the only real difference from its first run is that the skin tone is slightly more pink, or flesh tone, but people say it's not that noticeable unless you compare them side by side. I don't have the first run obviously, but I think the current tone is fine. If anything, I think this whole deal with the skin tone is mainly just a bunch of elitists that want the first run because, well... it's the first run. That's just my opinion though.

Review: Kyouka Midarezaki by Good Smile Company

As some of you may already know, I have shit taste in music. This obviously means that I have shit taste in anime as well. Today's review is a character from the anime/manga/light novel Kyouran Kazoku Nikki. It's a wacky comedy series involving a group of people that may be the child of Enka, a vengeful creature that is capable of annihilating the human race. They gather this group together and form a family in hopes that whoever the child of Enka may be, they will be reluctant to destroy humanity due to their ties to their family.

This character is Kyouka, the mother of the make-shift family. She's my favorite out of the entire cast and I'm actually a bit surprised that GSC made figures from this series considering how obscure it is, or maybe it's actually really popular and I'm just ignorant. The figure came out a little under two years ago which made it hard to find even with the use of and Mandarake. I had pretty much given up on finding this figure, but I eventually found it for a price that was only a $5 over retail. Anyways, before I move onto the review here's a Youtube video of the anime's opening for those of you who are curious. You can tell exactly what kind of show this is from the opening.

Review: Figma Aya Shameimaru By Max Factory

Gensokyo's honest and humble reporter is here in Figma form! She came before Fate, but I decided to review Fate first so now it's Aya's turn.

 The usual from Figma boxes.
You can see my hams in the reflection.

Review: Fate Testarossa -PHANTOM MINDS- by Alter

Alter has produced many figures of characters from the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha series and it's no surprise that they have become godly at it. Today I bring you a review of dat ass -Phantom Minds-, a beautiful figure of her appearance in the first Nanoha movie.

Like another blogger mentioned, the shipping cost for this was beastly. This figure shipped alone and initially cost 4770 Yen for SAL. I kindly asked AmiAmi to switch it to EMS as it was only 400 Yen more.

I don't usually include pictures of the actual shipping box in my reviews, but I think this one is an excellent exception. Brace yourself for for some DFC and dat ass, a deadly combination.

Review: Super Soniko Version 2 by Gift

Here comes the adorable Super Soniko Ver.2 plushie by Gift! I actually received her awhile ago, but I wanted to shitpost instead was waiting for the right moment to post my review of her! I-it's not l-like I ran out of things to post about or anything! That's just silly.

Review: Alice Margatroid by Griffon Enterprises (Re-release)

There's nothing really special about Alice's box. It's a standard box from Griffon Enterprises. I didn't include any shots of the top, bottom, and sides as they look identical to the front or were very plain. The background that you can see through the front window shows a pink background with a window containing silhouettes of dolls. If there's anything worth mentioning about this bix, it would be it's size. It's fairly small compared to other 1/8 PVC figures. Due to its size, the shipping cost was a lot lower than I had expected.

Review: Yukari Yakumo by Kotobukiya

Front & Back

 Top & Bottom

Yukari's box is fairly large. Some of the shots of the box look quite shitty due to the fact that I had to take them from an angle to avoid myself appearing in the reflections of the windows. I couldn't hide my entire body so you can see my hams trying to keep the camera stable in some of the pictures. The way they made the side and front windows shaped like Yukari's gaps surprised me. That added with the glorious backgrounds inside truly give the box a nice touch.
